A treat for the whole school today, buddying up in to our house groups and then travelling the world to learn about different cultures, we’ve been to India, China and different parts of Africa!
It’s been great to learn about and celebrate different lifestyles around the world, we’ve eaten new foods, played sports and listened to music amongst other things.

Year 6 participated in a day of Coronation fun at St Oswald’s with our pen pals. We learned our song for the Coronation celebration and created Coronation crafts.
Year 6 have been refining their Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling skills with a ‘Who wants to be a millionaire’ style quiz.
In Year 6 we completed Maths relays completing a range of different SATs style questions and using our verbal reasoning skills to ascertain answers as a group.
Year 5 had an amazing time at the Great North Museum! We explored and learnt more about the Ancient Greeks, read Leon and the Gorgons Curse and explored some historical artefacts. We even participated in a virtual trip to space which was out of this world.
Year 6 visited Openzone @ The Word and developed their understanding of coding, they had to work in teams to build and programme robots.
Year 5 had an amazing time celebrating Red Nose Day in support of Comic Relief. I think you’ll agree that they all looked fantastic.
Year 5 got their chef hats on this week to design and make their own soup recipe. We weighed, measured, hopped, peeled and crushed ingredients to make a delicious vegetable soup. We then shared this with our grown ups as part of our COOL afternoon.
Year 5 we’re lucky enough to enjoy a trip to The Word this week where Mr Robert taught us all about micro bits, programming and we programmed a Lego Wedo robot to break dance. Our robots had some cool moves, that’s for sure!
