Year 3 take the first big step!
After over a year, Year 3 were the first class to have a memorable experience... OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL!
As part of our topic 'Mighty Metals', we visited the playground at Monkton Dene Park. Whilst we were there, we played on all the equipment and described the forces in action. We got to experience these forces as we went on the zip line, slid down the slide and swung on the swings!
When we got back to school, we identified the equipment and the forces we'd experienced.
Today we made origami rabbits using special origami paper. We picked our favourite colours, or colours that reminded us of Easter and we followed the tricky instructions to fold them correctly. Some of us made whole families!
Jenny and Jessica with Elf Fishcake and Skittles. We love your PJ’s girls and your elf hat Jessica! Look at that bow Jenny! WOW!😮
Maisie and Phoebe have decorated the tree today and we had a special North Pole breakfast to celebrate the start of our Christmas festivities!❄🎄🎄 We love Christmas!!!!🎄🎄🎄
Happy 1st of December to you too Mrs Smith x
Aubree’s elf looks so cute and cuddly! I wonder if he or she stays that way throughout December??
Here are Maddy, Jack and Skye’s elves. They look like they are going to get up to mischief.
Seeing the good even in the hardest of times.
Today has been a special day. Sometimes it takes you by surprise that good things can happen at any time. We have all had to cope with the new normal and not being able to see our loved ones, however, we have also been able to use technology to help us stay in touch. Well that happened for me today.
Lots of people laugh at me [in a kind way] because I talk about Canada, and the time I lived there, a lot. Well today I got to talk to Canada because I got a surprise call from friends I made over there. We do chat by email, but haven’t seen each other for 15 years, well that was before today when they noticed I was online and called me.
Such a small thing to do they thought, but it meant such a lot to me and made me smile, laugh and even shed a little tear. Kindness and friendship is so powerful. So keep being kind, even the smallest thing you do can make a world of difference to the person who receives it. I know my friend’s act of kindness meant the world to me today.
Be kind to each other.
