Bede Burn Buddies (BBB) Fundraising Group

Who are we?

We are a group of parents/family members and carers who volunteer to support fundraising activities and initiatives throughout the school year. Through these activities, all the money raised is fed back into the school to benefit all of the children who attend Bede Burn Primary School.

The Bede Burn Buddies group has been in operation for over 15 years, during this time the group has evolved as new children have joined and left the school. In the past, the group has supported and financially contributed to some fantastic activities, which include;

  • School events (Discos, Parties and off-site events like pantomimes/school trips)
  • Providing children with small gifts (Books, Selections Boxes, Sweets and Stationary)
  • Support the school to purchase resources or equipment as and when required

What do the members get involved in?

Most of our fundraising is generated through events which are hosted in collaboration with the school. Some examples include:

  • Christmas Fayre
  • Discos/Parties
  • Book fairs
  • Organising and running raffles

All of our members volunteer their time to help support and manage these events. This may include;

  • Help running a stall at an event
  • Helping to purchase and sell sweets/confectionary at events
  • Organising raffles/putting together hampers
  • Support with preparation of gifts to children

Our group members play a an integral role on the future decision making and bring recommendations and new ideas to the table on future fundraising activities.

Our Goal for 2024

We would like achieve as much fundraising as possible to help aid and support the school. Our fundraising target is £1500.

Currently the school has a limited number of iPads which are shared throughout all year groups. Our ultimate goal is ensure that every child has access to an individual iPad.

We are welcoming new members to join our group. Becoming a member is easy and we would be delighted for anyone who would like to be involved in our fundraising activities to come forward to express their interest.

  • We host quarterly meetings with the school to discuss upcoming activities and ongoing actions (usually within/or soon after a school day, based at the school)
  • We meet as a group when needed – usually outside of school operation hours
