- Reception enjoyed a picnic and play at the park with their buddies.

Year 6 had a fabulous time today, with their buddies, at Valley View Park.
As part of Reception’s topic ‘On the Beach’, we have been talking about how we can look after our beaches and the impact rubbish has on the ocean and animals.

Reception really enjoyed Aspirations day.

Reception enjoyed a trip to the beach yesterday to start off their new topic ‘On the Beach’. We loved exploring the beach to see if what we could find.
On Friday, Reception went on a great adventure to Edinburgh Zoo. We enjoyed the metro, train, bus and not to mention seeing all the amazing animals. We caught a glimpse of Addy the new baby sloth and we were so excited to sneak a peek at David Attenbara, the baby capybara! After waving goodbye to all the animals, we enjoyed our McDonalds on the journey home, with very tired legs and teachers too!
On Friday, Reception enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tasting the rainbow! We tried raspberry, watermelon, melon, kiwi, pineapple, plum, lemon, mango and blueberries.
We were very resilient and tried new fruits that we haven’t had before or ones that we didn’t think that we liked. Some very funny faces when trying the lemon!

As part of Reception’s topic ‘Ready Steady Grow’, reception have been creating fruit artwork inspired by Giuseppe Arcimboldo.
On Friday, Reception visited Bill Quay Farm to start their new topic ‘Ready Steady Grow’. We fed the pigs, petted the goats, stroked a rabbit and ferret and observed the alpacas, geese, ducks and emus. We then enjoyed our lunch on the cozy old double decker bus.
Reception enjoyed World Book Day today, we started the day with breakfast with a book and then we have shared stories in class, with our buddies and been in different house groups to share stories too
