On year 2’s Diversity Day visit to France, they learnt all about France, read some French books and learnt the nursery rhyme, “Nounours, nounours.”
Last week in DT, Year 2 learnt how to do a running stitch as part of our topic “Cut, Stitch and Join”. We were so impressed with how fantastic Year 2 were at stitching!
For National Storytelling Day, Year 2 focussed on the story “The King’s Runaway Crown”. This story was so fun to listen to and learn! We sequenced the story, created new front covers and blurbs and practised acting out to story to show the school on the afternoon 👑

Year 2 have had a lovely afternoon in the forest garden making their own Easter gardens linked to their RE topic.

Year 2 had a fantastic morning at the library! We listened to some stories and then went off to read some of the library books independently before choosing our own book to borrow for school

In Science, Year 2 has been exploring the properties of everyday materials, testing whether they can be bent, twisted, squashed and stretched.

This week, Year 2 began looking at money in Maths, we had so much fun playing shops, first using pence and then using pounds – even notes! We were able to play shopkeeper, customer and banker. We had a browse of the things our friends had for sale before heading to the ‘bank’ to ask for the correct amount of money that we needed 💷

Year 2 had a fantastic time at the school pantomime yesterday! We danced and sang all afternoon!
