A massive well done to our Ten Pin Bowling team who represented Bede Burn at another event organised by South Tyneside School Sport Network. Children competed as a team against a number of other schools and managed a fantastic team average of 88.8.
Year 5 started their new Sow, Grow and Farm topic in Geography today. Year 5 focused on the features of a successful allotment and presented an allotment redevelopment proposal to the class.

Year 5 have been brilliant video producers today! They have used their knowledge of filming techniques and camera angles to plan, record and edit their own videos about a topic of their choice. Year 5 uploaded their videos to seesaw for their parents and carers to enjoy.
Year 6 had a lovely morning at the Library choosing new books to bring back with us and enjoying some stories together.
During our STEM day, Year 5 made lollipop stick snowmen to sell at our Christmas fayre. We explored science, technology, engineering and math through teamwork and creativity, making for a very exciting day!
As part of our English instructions topic, Year 5 have been discussing “How to spread Christmas cheer.” We watched some scenes from Elf whilst drinking hot chocolates. We spoke about the importance of kindness and spreading joy just like Buddy the elf does!
Year 6 are currently studying ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens. In order to help us learn the story we’ve been using our oracy skills to re-tell the story through actions and performance.
As part of our enterprise project for the Christmas Fayre, Year 6 made salt dough Christmas tree decorations.
This afternoon, Year 4 were invited on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Society to participate in a Singing for the Brain event where we sang various Christmas songs to people who are living with Dementia.
This was another successful Christmas singing performance from Year 4 which we thoroughly enjoyed! We enjoyed some juice and sweets afterwards for our brilliant Christmas singing. The Alzheimer’s Society said they would love to welcome us back to sing again in the future. Well done Year 4!
