

Today the whole school got treated to an African Drumming Assembly. After that, some of our Key Stage 2 classes even got to join in a workshop and learn to play some different rhythms.

Year 5 had an awesome Fit for Fun session today. We had circuits with Mrs Swanson, football with Mr Ferraro, dance with Mrs Peel, party games with Mrs Evans, whacky races with Miss Sturrock and athletics with Mrs Smith. Well done Year 5.
The whole school took part in the Blind Race fundraiser for guide dogs organiser by our amazing school council. A staggering £400.80 was raised by the whole school. Thank you to all of our children and grown ups at home who supported this.
A wonderful final Sports Day for Year 6. What a lovely day we’ve had competing against our friends in a range of different sports.
After two cancelled attempts due to snow, year 4 finally had a great time completing their Level 1 Bike Ability, which entailed ensuring that they could ride their bike safely, look around for any dangers and signal their change in direction. As well as playing some fun obstacle games!
Our Year 6 and Reception pupils got to have a lovely picnic at the park with their buddies. They played games with each other and had the loveliest time!
Year 6 had the chance to visit Jarrow Hall and partake in a collective singing event with other schools in the local area. Then we got to explore Jarrow Hall and participate in some activities.
This morning Year 5 had some visitors from the NSPCC. They spoke to us about how we can ‘Stay Safe and Speak Out’. We spoke about what sort of behaviours we appropriate and inappropriate and who we can speak to about any forms of abuse of anything that we may be worried about.
Yesterday Year 5 were lucky enough to visit Different Voices at Jarrow Hall music project. We got to sing along to the live band and then we were able to walk around and see the animals and buildings. Well done Year 5.
