Year 6 started their Athletics unit in P.E. yesterday afternoon. We focused on quick reactions off the start line for our sprinting before moving onto throwing javelins where we practised our pull throws from the offset position. Check out some of our in action photos!

In R.E yesterday, Year 3 enjoyed working in groups to identify what they could see, notice and wonder about Hindu shrines. There were some fantastic answers!
Year 5 took part in a cricket workshop before half term, practicing the skills they learnt during our PE lessons at the start of the year

Our Year 5 class kicked off their Bikeability sessions today! We had our helmets checked to ensure a safe and confident start and have focused on recapping key safety tips. Let the cycling adventures begin!
Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed our cricket session yesterday morning! We definitely have some natural cricket players in our class, who showed incredible skills and abilities. Well done Year 3!

Year 4 attended St. Paul’s Church this afternoon for a service of thanksgiving for St. Bede, which was led by students from local schools and the Dean of Durham. We learned lots of information about St. Bede and how he’s linked to Durham Cathedral.

Reception visited St Oswald’s Church today to look at the features of a church, we went on a tour around the church and found out all about the features and why they are there.

Year 4 had their final Tennis session yesterday afternoon. We practised our overhead serve and volleying skills before combining all of our skills that we’ve learned over this last half term. Check out some of our in action photos!

Year 5 enjoyed some outdoor games linked to their French topic, La Partie du Corps
Year Four had a very energetic day yesterday taking part in the Year 3/4 OAA event at North Marine Park. We split into two teams and used our map reading skills to locate the markers around the park, joining in with games ran by Harton Academy’s Sports Leaders along the way. The sun was shining all day long and we had a fabulous day!
