Year 5 have embraced their new D.T. topic, “Moving Mechanisms” this week by investigating the effects of pneumatics and the many ways it can be used. We conducted a number of experiments looking at how compressed air works, which will help us design and make our own pneumatic machine that can perform a useful function in the home.

Year Four had a fantastic time at Jarrow Hall! We explored an Anglo Saxon farm and village. After lunch, we practiced some weaving linked to Anglo Saxon textiles and re-enacted a battle between the Vikings and Anglo Saxons ️

In Reception we have started our new topic ‘Marvellous Machines’. We looked at the work of artist Jackson Pollack which inspired us to create our own firework inspired pictures on the yard and then we continued this digitally using the iPads.

In our ‘ Fresh Food, Good Food’ topic, Y4 designed and made their own food packaging for Fruity Popcorn. We decided we would need to add a brand name , ingredients and a best before date. We had so much fun!

Year 3 had their first hockey lesson in PE this week! They learned how to hold the stick, dribble the ball, and work as a team – showing great enthusiasm and energy on the pitch!

Our girls football team played brilliantly in their matches today! ⚽ They won two games, showing fantastic teamwork, determination, and spirit throughout. Well done, girls!

Year 6 have ended their musical unit by composing their own 4 bar melody, inspired by the song Riverside Sunset.
This morning in Maths, Year 5 played Bingo to begin with to consolidate their learning on dividing by 10, 100 and 1000. Then, we worked in groups to play Jeopardy where we answered lots of questions about multiplying and dividing in multiples of 10, 100 and 1000.
