Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed Time to Talk Day! We became chefs and food critics where we made our own Seasonal Soup linked to our D.T. unit (Eat the Seasons). We put our Oracy skills into practise when evaluating our soups. Check out some of our chefs in action!
Year 5 started their next Computing unit where we were using the Crumble Kits to develop our programming skills. We programmed the sparkle to change different colours and for different durations, we added in a switch and some of us even added in a buzzer. Check out some of our in action photos!
Year One have been applying their number knowledge to 10 to solve addition problems to 20.
Year 3 have had a busy morning measuring lots of different objects around Bede Burn! We have been deciding which unit of measure is the most appropriate 📏
As part of receptions topic ‘Long Ago’, we have been looking at baby toys. We discussed how and why they are different to our toys and what materials they are made from.
Reception took part in the EYFS Superheroes Festival at Temple Park. We participated in different challenges throughout the afternoon and best of all, we were dressed as superheroes
In French, year 4 have been learning to ask what time it is and to tell someone the time.
In science, year six compared and gave reasons for variations in how components in electrical circuits function (brightness of lamps; volume of buzzers and function of on or off switches.)
In DT, year 6 investigated how strength can be added to a paper bridge framework by using multiple layers or changing it’s shape.
In Science, Year 2 has been exploring the properties of everyday materials, testing whether they can be bent, twisted, squashed and stretched.
