Year 5 had a fantastic time celebrating Diversity Day! The class toured different classrooms around the school, each transformed into a window to another culture. They explored the vibrant traditions of South Africa, discovered the rich history of Greece, experienced the beauty of China and learned all about life in Australia. A busy journey around the world – without even leaving the school!

Year 6 had an action packed day on Thursday at Shiremoor Adventure playground. A great trip with our reception buddies!

In Year 1, we have been learning about Rosh Hashanah as part of our RE topic ‘Judaism’. In lesson today, we have been making our own shofar horns.

Year 6 carried out a series of experiments to determine what happens to light as it passes from one transparent material to another. They discovered that because water is denser than air, the light slows down and changes direction as it hits the surface of the water.

As part of their Light Theory science topic, year 6 investigated how light behaves when reflected off a variety of mirrors: plane, concave and convex.
