In PE, year 5 have been practicing ‘invasion’ games as part of their Netball topic, including bench-ball! This week, they focused on looking for open spaces to run into to catch the ball without being intercepted by the other team. Well done year 5 – great teamwork!
Year 5 enjoyed World Composers Day. We learned about John Williams as our composer before composing our own music on the glockenspiels. Check out some of our photos!
Today we celebrated World Religion Day in reception. We talked about the different religions around the world and the similarities they all had. We then concentrated on Islam, creating our own prayers mats and colouring activities.
Year 3 have loved learning all about Judaism for World Religion Day! 🕍✡️
For World Religion Day, year 6 have been learning about Judaism – exploring the origins, symbols, special places and festivals.
As part of Reception topic ‘Stories and Rhymes’ we enjoyed reading The Gingerbread Man. We then received a letter from the little old woman and the little old man asking for our help to create a new gingerbread man as their own had ran away. We enjoyed decorating and eating them on Friday.
As part of World Composer Day, reception were looking at Florence Price. We discussed her early life and how she became a composer, we listened to her music and enjoyed being composers ourselves. We then held a quiz to see how much we could remember and finally talking about how her music made us feel and gave it a rating out of 5.
Year 5 enjoyed discussing their books last week for Book Talk.
Year 3 loved learning all about Tchaikovsky for World Composer Day on Friday! 🎶 Our favourite piece of music was Swan Lake 🩰🦢
