On Wednesday Year 2 put their DT skills to the test when constructing their beach huts.
On Friday, Year Two took their maths outdoors to consolidate their knowledge on direction. We practised moving forwards, backwards, left and right.
During their history focused topic ‘Maafa’, which teaches children about Africa past and present and the development of the slave trade, the children enjoyed discussing new topic specific vocabulary.
As the project progresses they are looking forward to exploring Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade and discussing the causes and consequences of the European colonisation of Africa.
Year 6 really enjoyed hunting for mini beasts in our Forest Garden with their Reception class buddies as part of their Ugly Bug Ball Day on Friday.

This week, in DT, Year 4 created machines that would have helped the ancient Egyptians build the pyramids.
They looked at different mechanisms, such as pulleys and levers, and considered which ones to include in their prototype.
They finished off by evaluating the effectiveness of their finished product.
Year 5 had to design a den that was wind and water proof using the resources in school.
We had to show a lot of resilience, teamwork and problem solving skills.
In Reception we have been sharing lots of stories about beanstalks, we had great fun acting the stories and adding some ideas of our own.
On Tuesday, Y6 had a fantastic day at Nissan Monozukiri learning about the manufacturing process at Nissan and the importance of working quickly but efficiently.
