A big thank you to Dr Bike who came in to school today to give a number of pupil’s bikes an inspection. It’s great that we can give children the opportunity to exercise and travel to and from school as safely as possible.

All of Bede Burn were lucky enough to be part of a brilliant assembly this morning delivered by Miss Summers giving us loads of facts about the Hindu Festival of Diwali also known as the festival of light. We learnt about the associated traditions such as cleaning the house prior, making rangoli patterns with candles in to invite the God Lakshmi into the home to bless it.
They also celebrate with fireworks and rows of lights. This is linked to the story of Rama and Sita and them defeating good over evil!
Thanks Miss Summers for such a brilliant start to our day!
Zayn and Zaki visited family in London and Somerset, passing stone henge on the way. They spent lots of time with cousins and great granny and had lots of fun in the grounds of Maunsel house collecting sweet chestnuts, apples, feeding peacocks and seeing how the locks work in the canal. They also saw how cows like classical music…
We thought we’d share a few pics of what Zayn and Zaki have been up to.
It’s been a busy summer as we moved house, explored the new area and found a bountiful, blackberry bush nearby. They loved making smoothies and ice lollies to enjoy in the heat!
Peter had a super family day out on the beach!
700 miles later. Carter’s adventures so far.

Tom and his family are in Devon for the first week of our summer holidays. Anyone who knows Tom will know his love of trains, so what better place to stay than in a train carriage perched on the side of the main line. They’ve seen some amazing trains.
Mrs Smith flew back to the UK on Friday ready for her oldest girl Sophie’s wedding to Matt! The Smith’s had a fab day and jetted back out to Spain on Sunday!
