Year Five celebrated World Religion Day by learning all about Buddhism. We began by discussing the main beliefs of Buddhism, including the Four Noble Truths which Buddhists believe they should follow to achieve a state of Nirvana. We then read the story of Buddha and re-enacted this in small groups so that we could fully understand the origins of Buddhism.

Year 5 enjoyed an afternoon at forest school, planting various seeds and learning about plant reproduction. They can’t wait to watch their plants grow!

Building a ‘spout’ for Incey Wincey spider to climb up before the rain came to wash him out !
As part of Reception’s ‘Long ago’ topic we have been talking about dinosaurs. We took advantage of the cold weather and returned some dinosaurs to the ice age!
We had lots of fun rescuing our dinosaurs.
On Friday Year 5 explored animal lifecycles on the chrome books. Three have been looking at the stages of growth and development.
Year 3 and 4 had a great morning exploring and digging in our Archaeology experience! We enjoyed an assembly all about Archaeology then a class workshop. We thoroughly enjoyed working in groups to do an Archaeology dig which involved us taking on the roles of excavators, illustrators and dusters. It gave us a great insight into the profession and we would love to explore this more. Check out our photos!
This week Reception have been designing and building robots, with a ‘little’ help from our buddies.
Teddy has had a great adventure flying to Paris Disney, enjoying the rides and meeting his favourite Disney characters.
It was also Teddy’s first time on a plane flying ✈️. It looks like you’ve had a magical time Teddy!
This half term Carter has been to mini golf, Wheelbirks Parlour to the haunted barn followed by ice cream and also a visit to Hopetown and to play in their fabulous new play area. This has been highly recommended by Carter’s family! This has then been followed by trick or treating and obviously a few games of football. Hope everyone has enjoyed their break.
