In PE this week, year 5 completed their second cricket lesson in preparation for an upcoming tournament. We got into a batting and fielding team and applied our skills to play a match. Well done year 5!

As part of our whole school Storytelling Day, year 5 performed Theseus and the Minotaur using freeze frames and body percussion. Well done year 5!

Year One made the most of National Storytelling Day exploring the story of Whiffy Wilson.
We created story boards,, found out about the main characters and applied all of our Oracy skills to perform a retell of the main events.

For National Storytelling Day, Year 2 focussed on the story “The King’s Runaway Crown”. This story was so fun to listen to and learn! We sequenced the story, created new front covers and blurbs and practised acting out to story to show the school on the afternoon 👑

In DT, year 4 used wooden printing blocks to create detailed decorative patterns, in the style of William Morris.

Year 4 have enjoyed learning the ready position and practicing their forehand groundstroke in tennis! 🎾
In DT, year four scrutinised work by British textile designer William Morris. They studied the repeated patterns in his designs before drawing and labelling isolated motifs used in his work.

Year 3 stepped into the roles of reporters and eye witnesses this week linked to our Newspaper Report sequence in English. We questioned each other using the 5 Ws (who, what, when, where and why) to ensure all essential details were covered 

Our Year 3 trip to the Centre for Life was a fantastic way to finish our “Rocks, Relics and Rumbles” topic. In the “Dino Bites” workshop, we learned what it’s like to be a paleontologist – bringing our learning to life!
