Mrs Smith had the absolute privilege of accompanying Bede Burn school choir to the annual Carol service at Jarrow Cemetery!! The children sang beautifully and were a real credit to Bede Burn! Thank you so much to the choir and their parents for coming along on a Saturday! It was a real festive treat despite the rain ️ and the children carried on regardless!
During our ‘Sound’ topic, in Science, Year 4 conducted an investigation to investigate how the volume of a sound changes at different distances from a sound source. Before our investigation, we discussed how we would make the test fair. Well done Year 4!
Reception had a wonderful time during our little dribblers PE session this week. They were learning how to kick the ball and control it once it reached their feet. The whole class did such a great job!
Y4/5 visited St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy on Wednesday morning to participate in a P.E. event led by their Sport’s Leaders where we enjoyed completing various sporting activities and challenges. On Tuesday, Reception visited The Urban Factory for an EYFS Coordination Festival. We have been climbing, rolling, jumping, crawling, throwing, catching and lots more gross motor skills.
We had lots of fun!

On Friday, year 5 visited Jarrow Library as part of our reading for pleasure in English. We enjoyed listening to stories, we chose our own books and have brought books back to school. We’re really looking forward to reading our books. Check out some of our photos!
What a joyful afternoon we’ve had in Year 3 making Christingles for our service tomorrow — complete with Christmas songs and big smiles! ️
Year 6 worked in groups to produce informative posters about how climate change and extreme weather affects people around the world, ranking the worst affected top ten.
Bede Burn and St Oswald’s enjoyed a ‘Marvellous Machines’ day on Friday. Hitachi visited us and we enjoyed learning about the different machines that help us.
