Whole School – Self Isolation – Mrs Smith’s Week 4.4.2020

4th April 2020Helen Smith

Hi All,

I hope you are all well.  I’ve been super busy over the past week.

When I’ve been at school its been great spending time with the key worker children and Alexa has also been keeping me company with some fab Disney tunes 🎶.

When I’ve not been at work I’ve been making our back yard ready for Summer 🤞!!  We’ve bought some new furniture and I’ve been doing some gardening!  I’m hoping the sun ☀️ is going to shine for us all very soon!

I’ve made Thurston flapjack which was absolutely delicious!

We’ve been for family walks and Henry 🐾 has been enjoying all of the extra cuddles he is getting with Poppy and Toby not being at school.

We have been delivering food for Hebburn Helps and worked with St Aloysius school last week to deliver hot food to some of our families!! The mince and dumplings were supposed to have been dreamy!

I can’t wait to get back to normal and see you all back at school!  I am missing you all so much.

Your posts are helping to fill my days and it is so great to see what you have all been up to!

Stay safe 🌈 everyone!

Love you all

Mrs Smith

Y6 – Lockdown – Kate makes a vein – 4.4.2020

4th April 2020Helen Smith
This week I created my own vein. It is made from a tube, I taped paper on to it to make it more tidy and put some cut up pieces of paper inside- sealing it in with cellophane. I also made what is inside blood- white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets- which I put in the caps of the tube, coloured red and put in red, white and blue paper which represents what is inside blood, then again I sealed it off with cellophane.
This week I also practised my shading technique with a mindfulness colouring book. And I played badminton and a few other games outside in my garden. To keep me occupied, every night I’d go for a walk with my mam and dad.
From Kate. (Y6)

Y1 – Lockdown – Zach has been busy – 1.4.2020

1st April 2020Helen Smith
We are getting into a little routine at home with some school workbooks for a little bit on a morning and some crafts and science on an afternoon as well as family project work. It’s a bit tricky as I am working from home 8 hours a day (taking inbound calls) but it’s a learning curve!
Here are some photos of some things we have been doing
Planting a cactus garden
Making a paper mache volcano scene for our dinosaur project
Our workbooks
Using chalks to create a rainbow
Making dinosaur shrinkles keyrings

Y2 – Lockdown – Ivy has been ill but we are so pleased she is better – 31.3.2020

31st March 2020Helen Smith

Ivy has baked lots, including scones and cupcakes.
Her shirt and card were doorstep delivered by Jessica Robertson to help cheer her up.
Because Ivy hasn’t had enough energy to do full online workouts these last few days, she’s been doing yoga, to help keep her muscles working without exhausting her.
