As part of ‘Christmas around the world’ Y2 learnt all about Argentinian Christmas. We made lanterns (Globos) and sang Feliz Navidad amongst learning facts and comparing our Christmas traditions with theirs. Did you know it’s summer in Argentina at Christmas? Imagine that!
During STEM week, Year 5 worked very hard researching, designing and building their own Christmas decoration.
We then advertised them online ready to sell at our Christmas fayre.
In science last week, Year 5 have been looking at the phases of the moon.
We thought about how the moon reflects the light of the sun and how the moons orbit impacts how much of the moon we can see from Earth.
We have loved our topic on Marvellous Machines this term and to cap it all off we got to make our own amazing creations with our buddies.

Y3 have been working hard on their Christmas themed STEM week. Here is a sneak preview of the items they will have for sale at the Christmas Fayre.
Year 6’s Maafa topic teaches them about Africa past and present and the development of the slave trade. It also explores Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, the causes and consequences of the European colonisation of Africa and the worldwide communities that make up the African diaspora.
Today they took part in an online workshop about the Transatlantic slave trade provided by Liverpool History Museum.
We loved the story of No-bot by Sue Hendrix so this week we have been planning their own Robot stories.
