We have been finding out lots of fascinating facts about Space and sharing our learning from home.

Y6 took part in a learning exhibition to learn about the treatment of Jews during Hitler’s time in power. They listened respectfully to the content that was delivered by the Holocaust Museum.

Year 2 enjoyed hunting in our Forest Garden for microhabitats as part of their Science topic.
We have been sharing the story ‘Owl Babies’ and making our own picture stories.

Year 5 had a fantastic afternoon continuing their Space theme in Science. Today we learned about Galileo Galilei and how he proved his theory on a geocentric universe. We used orrerys to demonstrate how this works.

This week in Y3, we started multiplication and division. We revised making equal groups using practical resources and some of us even translated these concrete representations into multiplication and division sentences.
Year 1 went to Beamish as part of their topic, Childhood. They visited the pit village where they spent some time in the classroom finding out about childhood in the 1950s. Later they played with some toys from the 1950s and had fun exploring the old town. At the end of the day they took a ride on a tram and of course paid a visit to the gift shop!
On Children In Need Day our whole school – including staff- enjoyed a delicious themed lunch. Thank you, Mrs Wilson!
Year 2 really enjoyed Children In Need Day. They completed the Joe Wicks Children in Need workout, created our own gratitude hearts and designed our own Pudsey.
