Year 5 enjoyed a day at the Great North Museum in Newcastle on Friday, completing a workshop and learning all about the Ancient Greeks. We even enjoyed lunch al fresco ☀️

Year 5 conducted a range of experiments in Science on Friday last week, testing a range of everyday materials by their properties.

Year 5 continued their golf topic yesterday, striking the ball using our launchers towards a large target.

Year 5 started their Golf topic in PE on Tuesday⛳️☀️ . We have been practising striking the ball accurately depending on how far away our target was.

Year 5 began their new topic in History today; Groundbreaking Greeks. We looked at the different Greek periods of time and explored the geography of Ancient Greece

Year 5 completed the second part of our computing lesson on Friday. We used charts to compare data and used advanced techniques to search for more than one field.

Year 5 have been using their linguistic Oracy skills to think of some hyperboles linked to the benefits to having a home fruit and veg patch

Year 5 have been creating and using databases in computing today. We started off by creating our own paper versions of a record card database. We then used our iPads to examine how data could be recorded and viewed on a computer-based database. We investigated how records can be grouped and sorted to answer specific questions.

Year 5 have had a busy Art lesson today, sculpting materials and making structures using natural materials from the forest garden.
Year 5 had a fabulous PE lesson in cricket today, improving our batting and fielding skills and communicating with our team mates.
