Using games to help learn how to say who is in my family tree.
Year 3 and 4 had the opportunity to represent Bede Burn Primary School at the South Tyneside Athletics competition today. Children participated in a range of track and field events against schools from across the borough, some fantastic individual and team performances were on show.

Some of our Year 3 children had a lovely morning at Boldon Tennis Club competing against a number of other schools in different tennis activities.
Year 3 have been answering the question ‘How can I set up and carry out some simple, comparative and fair tests, making predictions for what might happen?’ The children investigated which materials were reflective using torches.
Year 3 we’re lucky enough to learn about African drumming. We learnt how to keep a rhythm with the djembes and how different beats are used for different celebrations.

KS2 were lucky enough to have some lovely visitors from Nissan in to visit us today, each class completed a workshop where we learned about the Nissan factory and got involved in designing and building our own cars.

Linked to our Rocks, Relics and Rumbles topic Year 3 had a fantastic opportunity to see an eruption in the classroom thanks to a fantastic project that was completed at home!
As part of our DT topic, we have been learning about different food groups. We planned and created our very own healthy, balanced Taco. We had great fun learning about the food groups and enjoyed eating the finished Taco.
Year 3 have really enjoyed exploring clay and replicating styles and patterns used on bell beaker pottery linked to our ‘Through the ages’ topic. We can’t wait to see their finished bell beaker pots!
