During their history focused topic ‘Maafa’, which teaches children about Africa past and present and the development of the slave trade, the children enjoyed discussing new topic specific vocabulary.
As the project progresses they are looking forward to exploring Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade and discussing the causes and consequences of the European colonisation of Africa.
Year 6 really enjoyed hunting for mini beasts in our Forest Garden with their Reception class buddies as part of their Ugly Bug Ball Day on Friday.
On Tuesday, Y6 had a fantastic day at Nissan Monozukiri learning about the manufacturing process at Nissan and the importance of working quickly but efficiently.
Y6 have enjoyed a maths relay – they split into 3 teams and each person had to come forward, answer the maths question and return to their team.

Year 6 created Kahoot quizzes about staying safe online to link to our Safer Internet Day Assembly.
Linked to their Frozen Kingdom geography topic, Year 6 looked carefully at images of Inuit animal carvings. They then used soft soap to carve their own Inuit inspired animal sculpture using the technique of carving.
