As part of our whole school Storytelling Day, year 5 performed Theseus and the Minotaur using freeze frames and body percussion. Well done year 5!

Year One made the most of National Storytelling Day exploring the story of Whiffy Wilson.
We created story boards,, found out about the main characters and applied all of our Oracy skills to perform a retell of the main events.
For National Storytelling Day, Year 2 focussed on the story “The King’s Runaway Crown”. This story was so fun to listen to and learn! We sequenced the story, created new front covers and blurbs and practised acting out to story to show the school on the afternoon 👑

Year 4 explored different dilemmas, using performance, to bring their ideas to life. They worked hard to build tension, develop characters and keep their audience engaged.
This week in cricket, year 6 learnt: how to correctly hold a cricket bat, how to attack the ball using effective fielding techniques and how to react to a ball hit by the batting team.

In Year 6’s first cricket session, year six learnt to react quickly and catch balls thrown at different heights and angles.
In DT, year 4 used wooden printing blocks to create detailed decorative patterns, in the style of William Morris.

Year 4 have enjoyed learning the ready position and practicing their forehand groundstroke in tennis! 🎾
Year 6 used recycled materials to send a message about the importance of recycling and the damage to the environment caused by human behaviour.
In DT, year four scrutinised work by British textile designer William Morris. They studied the repeated patterns in his designs before drawing and labelling isolated motifs used in his work.
