Last week as part of our DT topic ‘Remarkable Recipes’ Year 2 prepared, cooked and tasted vegetable soup! On Wednesday we grated, peeled, chopped and sliced our vegetables ready for today to go out into the forest garden with Mr Usher to cook our soup on the fire. Most of us gave the soup a try and loved it. It smelt delicious! Well done to Year 2, super chefs

Year 2 worked well together in groups today to identify where our food comes from as we start our new DT topic of Remarkable Recipes. Our oracy skills helped us to listen to each other and discuss where each item belonged. Great job Year 2!

On Friday morning, Year 2 produced their final write for their shape poetry in English. We were so excited to do this digitally on the chromebooks before drawing our shapes to match. We were so impressed with all of the poems! .
After some constructive feedback from Mrs Smith & Mr Usher, Year 2 have focussed in and worked so hard on their setting descriptions. They actively used their plans to help them write all about the rainforest as inspired by our book ‘Greta and the Giants’. Mr Ferraro and Miss Bell are so proud of them.

On Wednesday in Art, Year 2 were looking at colour mixing with patterns and textures, making our own patterns in clay and then mixing paint with our design to see which colours we could make

In week one, in KS1 computing club, we learnt how to login and create images and last week we found out how to write digitally. Today we started creating information texts about our favourite animals by combining the skills we’ve learnt so far! We even learnt how to use copy and paste!
This week in PSHE, Year 2 have been talking about our feelings and the tools we can use to manage our feelings to make us feel better. We made our own tools to go in our tool boxes filled with all of the things that make us happy and help us to feel better if we ever feel upset or angry

Year 2 have started their first topic ‘Movers and Shakers’, we have been looking at some of the significant people within our topic and deciding how significant they are using Dawson’s Model. It has been so interesting learning about activists, explorers, artists, scientists and monarchs!
In History, as part of their Magnificent Monarchs topic, ,Year 2 have been sequencing significant sovereigns in chronological order.
