Year 5 have had a busy morning prepping their vegetables for today. We can’t wait to welcome our parents in this afternoon for our COOL afternoon to taste test our seasonal soups!

Today Year 5 have been exploring how Christians describe God by discussing the various titles and attributes associated with Him. Year 5 created their own Top Trumps cards that featured different characteristics and qualities of God. We thoroughly enjoyed playing against each other, competing to see whose card had the most powerful qualities.

Year 5 have been having a blast in PE, developing their netball skills through teamwork, coordination, and friendly competition! From passing to shooting, they’ve shown great progress and sportsmanship.

As part of our ‘Human Reproduction and Aging’ topic, Year 5 enjoyed exploring the world of mammals by classifying them based on different features. Working together, we were able to sort our sorting cards into two groups; mammals and non-mammals.
Year Five celebrated World Religion Day by learning all about Buddhism. We began by discussing the main beliefs of Buddhism, including the Four Noble Truths which Buddhists believe they should follow to achieve a state of Nirvana. We then read the story of Buddha and re-enacted this in small groups so that we could fully understand the origins of Buddhism.

Year 5 enjoyed an afternoon at forest school, planting various seeds and learning about plant reproduction. They can’t wait to watch their plants grow!

On Friday Year 5 explored animal lifecycles on the chrome books. Three have been looking at the stages of growth and development.
Year 5 started their new Sow, Grow and Farm topic in Geography today. Year 5 focused on the features of a successful allotment and presented an allotment redevelopment proposal to the class.
Year 5 have been brilliant video producers today! They have used their knowledge of filming techniques and camera angles to plan, record and edit their own videos about a topic of their choice. Year 5 uploaded their videos to seesaw for their parents and carers to enjoy.
During our STEM day, Year 5 made lollipop stick snowmen to sell at our Christmas fayre. We explored science, technology, engineering and math through teamwork and creativity, making for a very exciting day!
