Year 5 have been using pen, paint and charcoal to add perspective, light and shade to our drawings today as part of our Line, Light and Shadow topic.

Year 5 have had a busy day so far for World Book Day! We have enjoyed stories and snacks for breakfast, followed by a whole school story time. We took a visit to Starbooks after making our own Starbooks cups, we enjoyed a hot chocolate whilst reading our favourite books. How amazing are our costumes?!

Yesterday Year 5 used flash cards to explore some key physical features and environmental regions of North and South America linked to our Sow, Grow and Farm topic in Geography.

Year 5 spent the day exploring and creating circuits online using Crumble. They had the opportunity to design, test and experiment with different circuit configurations.

Year 5 have been using Kleki to create some abstract art images today. We used graphics software and digital photography to edit our images, well done Year 5!

Year 5 spent some time practicing their physical oracy skills yesterday by doing some relaxing posture pilates!

Year 5 took some fabulous black and white photos in Art yesterday afternoon as part of our “Line, light and shadow” topic. We discussed how we can focus more on the subjects form, texture and lighting when we eliminate colour distractions from images.
Yesterday some of our KS2 children attended our very first swimming gala at Haven Point. The afternoon was a fabulous display of skill, sportsmanship, and team spirit!

Year 5 spent the afternoon at Jarrow library. We listened to a story read by Catherine the librarian. We all picked a book to bring back to school to enjoy during independent reading time.

Year 5 had a fabulous day yesterday during Time To Talk! We prepped our own vegetables and cooked our soup in our forest garden. We planned and recorded an advert for our soups and had a blind taste test once our parents joined us for COOL afternoon!
