In DT, year 6 investigated how strength can be added to a paper bridge framework by using multiple layers or changing it’s shape.

In RE, year 6 have been learning about God’s creation of the earth for mankind. They discussed ways in which we could express our love and gratitude to God by being good stewards in this world, creating posters to present their ideas.
As part of their Inuit Art topic, year 6 carved soap in the style of Joe Ashoona, a significant Inuit artist.
For World Religion Day, year 6 have been learning about Judaism – exploring the origins, symbols, special places and festivals.

For World Composers Day Year 6 have explored the life of Edward Elgar and listened to some of his compositions. They also composed their own rhythms, on the tongue drums, focussing on quavers, crotchets and minimums.
In computing, year 6 have been learning how to use spreadsheets. During the all day session, they gained an understanding of: how to collect data; how to format a spreadsheet; how to add formulas and how to calculate and duplicate. They ended the session by planning a party within their given budget.

In last weeks Friday’s Book Talk, year 6 shared their new books with their peers.

In sessions one and two of KidsSafe, year six discussed; feelings, building trust, trusted adults, bullying and saying, “No!”
Year 6 had a great time at the pantomime on Tuesday – full of smiles & laughter!
Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed their last Christmas party on Monday – lots of memories made.
