Y1: Geography

24th March 2022Mr G Mcintosh

Year 1 have been using directional language this week to find their way from one London Landmark to another.

They have been using their maps skills and language skills to help plan their topic writing.

They had lots of fun on the yard, imagining they were in London giving each other instructions and describing the landmarks as they passed.

Y1: PE

18th February 2022Mr G Mcintosh

Year 1 read the story ‘The Birthday Bike Surprise’ as part of their new PE unit. During the warm up they explored how many different ways they could move whilst ‘riding their bike’.

Their skill this week was coordination and footwork, where they worked on side-stepping in both directions, side steps with pivots, hopscotch and moving in zig zag patterns.

They showed great fluency and control.

Well done everyone!

Y1: Superstar!

27th January 2022Mr G Mcintosh

We have received the following email from the ‘Love, Amelia’ charity that we would love to share with you about Alice in Y1!

Alice has been visiting the ‘Love, Amelia’ charity with her Mam, Jen, and demonstrated such kindness and compassion to other children who are without the luxuries she is fortunate enough to have. Alice has helped to sort through toys and clothes with her Mam and has even drawn some beautiful pictures and cards to give to the boys and girls we help to make them smile. Alice has also previously sorted through her own clothes, shoes and toys and donated them for other children to use. Alice is such a star and has made us all smile when she has been with us and we wanted to share this with her school, to which she is a credit.
