Year 5 spent the day exploring and creating circuits online using Crumble. They had the opportunity to design, test and experiment with different circuit configurations.

Year 5 spent some time practicing their physical oracy skills yesterday by doing some relaxing posture pilates!

Year 5 took some fabulous black and white photos in Art yesterday afternoon as part of our “Line, light and shadow” topic. We discussed how we can focus more on the subjects form, texture and lighting when we eliminate colour distractions from images.
Year 5 have had a busy morning prepping their vegetables for today. We can’t wait to welcome our parents in this afternoon for our COOL afternoon to taste test our seasonal soups!

Sophia has been attending Rookies with South Shields Volunteer lifeguards . She’s learning all about keeping herself safe in the water and about helping others who are in danger . She’s learnt how to swim too ⭐️
She’s just got her first certificate which is a massive achievement for her . Well done Sophia we are really proud.
Abi has spent half term travelling around the West Coast and Highlands of Scotland in a camper van.
She’s been to wave at the Harry Potter train, rode a cable car up Ben Nevis, took in the views at Applecross Pass and went walking to Fyrish Monument near Alness. Finishing up with a visit to her Nana who lives in Evanton.
George has been hanging around this half term doing lots of climbing with his family at Far Peak Climbing Centre in The Cotswolds. It looks so much fun George!!

Abigail was lucky enough to visit an elephant sanctuary on Ko Lanta in Thailand. She’s also done lots of swimming and took a bike ride in Singapore.
She’s looking forward to seeing all of her friends on Monday.
What a privilege it was for me to attend Hebburn Helps and see our gorgeous Sophia from Bede Burn and handsome Callum from St Oswald’s and their mams receive their MBE awards for their voluntary services to aid the community. Both Sophia and Callum for years have given up their school holidays to support at Hebburn Helps and ensure those who need support in the community are fed. Their work was also recognised during the pandemic. They are real courageous advocates and I am so so proud to be their headteacher! Thanks Callum and Sophia.
Love Mrs Smith
Tyler has given two hours of his time this weekend to volunteer for Marie Curie and collected for their Daffodil appeal. What a superstar 🤩!!
