On Tuesday, Reception visited The Urban Factory for an EYFS Coordination Festival. We have been climbing, rolling, jumping, crawling, throwing, catching and lots more gross motor skills.
We had lots of fun!

Rec – UW – Marvellous Machines Hitachi Workshop – 28.11.2025

Bede Burn and St Oswald’s enjoyed a ‘Marvellous Machines’ day on Friday. Hitachi visited us and we enjoyed learning about the different machines that help us.

Rec – PSHE – Diversity Day – 4.7.2025

Reception have had so much fun during Diversity Day today, learning all about Greece, South Africa, Australia and China. We have decorated flags, listened to music, created aboriginal art and took part in the olympics!
This afternoon our parents/carers joined us for more Diversity Day fun where we painted, coloured in, created a positivity poster and decorated our own fish outside linked to the story ‘Only One You’

Rec/Y6 – PSHE – Shiremoor Park – 3.7.2025

Reception and their Year 6 buddies visited Shiremoor Adventure Playground for the day on Thursday where we played all day! We had so much fun jumping, climbing, roller skating, scootering, playing football, zip lining and so much more! ☀️

Rec – Science – Crab Facts – 30.6.2025

As part of our topic ‘On the Beach’, Reception has been learning all about crabs and we found out so many crabby facts – we even found out that the biggest crab, a Japanese spider crab has a leg span of up 4 metres!
We made our own crabs and wrote some of our most interesting facts

Rec – Science – Discovery Zoo Visit – 17.6.2025

Reception had our friends from St Oswalds join us today for a morning full of animals!
Along with our fun animal activities in class, we had a visit from Discovery Zoo and got to hold a tortoise, millipede, gecko and even a python!  We had a closer look at a tarantula and learnt lots of fun facts about the animals.
We have had such a fun and busy morning!
