On Tuesday, reception held a ‘Marvellous Machines Incredible Invention Convention’ to show off all their work to their grown ups, that they have completed during their topic ‘Marvellous Machines’.

Reception had their last little dribblers session this week. They have absolutely loved learning how to throw, pass, catch, dribble, stop and control a ball. Thank you to Phil our coach for teaching us all of these amazing skills!

Reception had a wonderful time during our little dribblers PE session this week. They were learning how to kick the ball and control it once it reached their feet. The whole class did such a great job!

On Tuesday, Reception visited The Urban Factory for an EYFS Coordination Festival. We have been climbing, rolling, jumping, crawling, throwing, catching and lots more gross motor skills.
We had lots of fun!
Bede Burn and St Oswald’s enjoyed a ‘Marvellous Machines’ day on Friday. Hitachi visited us and we enjoyed learning about the different machines that help us.
As part of ‘No pens day’ in reception, we explored the school yard to find triangles and circles as part of our maths lesson. We used our phonics knowledge to build words using the letter cards in phonics. In drawing club, we used our oracy skills to describe our own bus stop, as part of the story ‘We catch the bus’. We joined our year 6 buddies in the hall for guided reading and then finished the day with our grown up creating puppets and machines as part of our topic.

In Reception, as part of our topic ‘Marvellous Machines’ we have been looking at how machines have changed over the years and investigating if they are more efficient. We finished the lesson with a lovely smoothie.

Reception have thoroughly enjoyed their little dribblers session this week. The children needed to work together as a team to collect as many items as they could using their ball skills to help.

In reception, we have been threading our own hand puppets, as part of our topic ‘Puppets and Pop ups’.
Year 6 had a fabulous time with their buddies, carrying out a range of activities to support Children In Need.
