During science week, year 6 discussed how scientists work in teams and the reasons why this is advantageous, carrying out their own experiments with and without speaking to discover the benefits of effective communication.

This week in art, year 6 researched a variety of environmental artists, creating pic collages of their work.
Year 6 had a fabulous book day, enjoying breakfast with a book, a world book day quiz, house activities, fun in the hall with their buddies and activities based around their World Book Day book.
Today in PE, year six thoroughly enjoyed their very first yoga session. They learned listening and breathing techniques as well as a variety of yoga poses.

In computing, year 6 spent the day learning how to use Tinkercad to create 3D templates ready to print. James actually printed his amazing creation at home!
In forest school, year 6 continued their DT topic, Engineer, moving on from building paper bridges to designing and building bridges from materials collected in the forest garden.

In sessions 3, 4 and 5 of KidSafe, year 6 learned about: movie and game ratings; staying safe on the internet; how to look after your body and private places and arguments at home or with loved ones.

Today, year 6 began their new art topic, Environmental Artists, by researching environmental artists and what their art represents.

Y6 loved poetry and pancakes – enjoying and sharing poems.
After researching images of printmaking by the artist Kenojuak Ashevak, year six created their own thumbnail sketches before producing stencil prints.
