Year 5 had their first Decider Skills session this afternoon with Emily from Healthy Minds. We looked at the fizz which is linked to our fight or flight response and strategies that we could use for if this happens.

For this half term’s forest school with Mr Usher, year 5 searched for lots of information sheets hidden around forest school all about farming in the UK, which links to our current Geography topic! We found lots of information about the day in the life of a farmer and how their role changes across the year depending on the season.
For Safer Internet Day, year 5 took part in an online lesson, where they joined lots of other schools around South Tyneside in a quiz all about how we can keep ourselves safe online!
Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed Time to Talk Day! We became chefs and food critics where we made our own Seasonal Soup linked to our D.T. unit (Eat the Seasons). We put our Oracy skills into practise when evaluating our soups. Check out some of our chefs in action!
