As part of Year 2’s new art topic ‘Flower Head’, we have been looking at the shape, form, colour and pattern of different flowers. In today’s lesson we have been sketching them.

Year 2 enjoyed delicious pancakes to celebrate pancake day!

A group of children from Year 2, competed in a South Tyneside School Sports Gymnastic Event. Mrs Churchward and Mr McIntosh were so proud of them competing individually to represent Bede Burn and finishing 9th out of 19 school groups.

As part of Year 2’s science topic ‘Uses of Materials’, we were testing the strength, texture and absorbency of different types of paper.

As part of Physical Oracy this week, Year 2 were practising their yoga to ensure good posture.

As part of, time to talk day, Year 2 completed their final beach hut design as part of their DT topic ‘Beach Huts’. We finished the day off with our grown ups evaluating our designs.

On Saturday, Amelie and her family took the train to London. They visited platform 9 3/4 Paddington Station and ‘Little Venice’ followed by the National History Museum.
On Sunday they visited Pudding lane, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, West Minister Abbey, the Gerkin and Leadenhall Market where some of Harry potter’s Diagon alley is filmed.
It looks like the Bell family have had an amazing start to half term!
