This week, children from years 5, 3 and 2 have had the opportunity to visit the OpenZone and take part in workshops about developing code for computing.
It has been a fantastic success and the staff and children have returned enthused about teaching coding back at school.

I had lots of fun building a Lego crocodile and a boat. It was clever that I could put my model into the computer to make it move by connecting wires from the Lego to the computer. I loved playing with the blue bots. They were special because you could see everything inside it and how it worked. I was amazed at how it worked!!!
When I was at the open zone I had fun.My favourate part was when me and Ellie made a lego crocodile,spinning birds and finally a boat.The best bit was when we were on the computer. What we did on the computer was controlling our lego by making it move on the computer.It worked because we had wires that connected from the lego to the computer.I was shocked what it did.After we made some lego we did the blue.bots we used I.pads to controll them!!! My blue.bot was called Bruce.I had a very fun day!!!
The open zone was fantastic and I liked the lego.All you had to do is put in codes into the computer then the lego moves.
It was so fun my favourite was when we made lego and plugged it in the computer it’s really good because it’s a mixture of school work and something we would do at home and blue bots you could see how it worked.They were called blue bots because they connect to bluetooth we had an amazing time at open zone with computer science if i were a different school I would go!
I love tech it’s amazing. We really did make them move,my partner Katie was great at
coding!The t.v in the dinner room was a bit wierd because a boy got lego stuck up his nose.Me and Katie made a crocodile,singing birds and tried to make a boat.
I had lots of fun at the open zone I had lots of fun building the Lego. There was a cable to Connect to the computer to make them move. I enjoyed the blue bots my blue bot was called Beatrice.I also enjoyed playing on minecraft I made it to LEVEL 13.
