We have had great fun and developed many of our DT skills and the process in order to make Beach Huts linked to our topic Geography ‘Coastline’. I’m sure you’ll agree that these are really impressive. Well Done Year Two!

Over the last two weeks Year Two have been really busy learning how to light fires and the safety behind this, making dens and chilling out in them and toasted marshmallows – yummy!
Andrew has been wanting to fly for a while and yesterday he got his chance with Granda as the pilot!! They went round Penshaw Monument, over Seaham Harbour and saw the coast at South Shields before heading back to the airfield!

Y2 were straight into writing coastal setting descriptions for their cold write this morning. This is the beginning of their brand new topic ‘Coastlines’.
As part of ‘Christmas around the world’ Y2 learnt all about Argentinian Christmas. We made lanterns (Globos) and sang Feliz Navidad amongst learning facts and comparing our Christmas traditions with theirs. Did you know it’s summer in Argentina at Christmas? Imagine that!
Zayn and Zaki visited family in London and Somerset, passing stone henge on the way. They spent lots of time with cousins and great granny and had lots of fun in the grounds of Maunsel house collecting sweet chestnuts, apples, feeding peacocks and seeing how the locks work in the canal. They also saw how cows like classical music…
Issac and Joseph are having great fun on their holidays.
Yesterday the Chontos family has a great day making memories at Boldon Lodge! Doesn’t it look fab!
