Y3 – Art – Inspired by L.S Lowry – 10.4.2025

11th April 2025Helen Smith
Year 3 used their knowledge of L.S.Lowry to create their own ‘Lowry style’ drawings. They based their pictures on his ‘Going to work’ piece but instead had, ‘Coming out of school’, by using photographs they had taken themselves of classes coming out of school for their lunch break.
The class concentrated on drawing dark, thin and elongated shapes for the children, without much detail, to make ‘matchstick children’. Using dark, gloomy colours they did their best to replicate Lowry’s style.
