Wow Reception! We can’t believe as only four and five year olds how amazing you were at performing our 1970’s songs for our grandparents. You sand ‘Three Little Birds’ and ‘Lovely Day’ beautifully with brilliant actions. Super proud Reception! Well done !

Last week was Science Week, and Reception learnt all about Space! ☀️
We made our own galaxy pictures with pastels, created galaxy pictures using paint splats outside, made our own smudge planets, and even flying rockets! We finished off by making space robots
We have learnt so much, and also had so much fun!

Reception had so much fun participating in all of our World Book Day activities on Thursday! We looked at the book ‘Bog Baby’ and created our very own bluebell woods pictures, we drew our own Bog Babys from a description and made special potion to help Bog Baby get better! ✨
On the afternoon, we all enjoyed hot chocolates and stories at ‘Starbooks’ what a fun filled day!

On Monday, Reception created some transitional art. We created pictures of Mary’s garden from the nursery rhyme ‘Mary, Mary Quite Contrary’ linked to our topic ‘Stories and Rhymes’. We used different materials and our imagination to create our own flowers and shells.

Reception spent the morning celebrating Chinese New Years with our friends at St. Oswald’s before finding out more about the country of China in the afternoon.

Reception have been learning how to throw and catch in PE, they are really enjoying learning new skills. We began with small passes with beanbags and moved onto throwing to each other using balls. We are so impressed with their determination and perseverance!

Parents and grandparents joined Reception on ‘Time To Talk’ day and helped us with our ‘Growing Story’ challenges to plant a seed, paint the seasons and make a magic growing picture.
