‘How to NOT go to school’ book by Parsley Mimblewood

7th May 2020Helen Smith
This is a book written by a primary school teacher called “How to NOT go to School – Parsley Mimblewood Saves the World”. In the past few days, it’s been downloaded over 50,000 times and shared by hundreds of schools with their families.  It is free to download, and there is an opportunity to donate to the NHS when you do that.
Parsley Mimblewood is a home-schooled kid who sees herself as something of an expert on “How to NOT go to School”. The story follows her daily whimsical adventures along with her 11 animals and 7 imaginary friends. Each chapter explores an issue that might be weighing on children’s minds at the moment such as missing friends, dealing with emotions and feeling cooped up

Whole School – Self Isolation – Mrs Smith’s Week 4.4.2020

4th April 2020Helen Smith

Hi All,

I hope you are all well.  I’ve been super busy over the past week.

When I’ve been at school its been great spending time with the key worker children and Alexa has also been keeping me company with some fab Disney tunes 🎶.

When I’ve not been at work I’ve been making our back yard ready for Summer 🤞!!  We’ve bought some new furniture and I’ve been doing some gardening!  I’m hoping the sun ☀️ is going to shine for us all very soon!

I’ve made Thurston flapjack which was absolutely delicious!

We’ve been for family walks and Henry 🐾 has been enjoying all of the extra cuddles he is getting with Poppy and Toby not being at school.

We have been delivering food for Hebburn Helps and worked with St Aloysius school last week to deliver hot food to some of our families!! The mince and dumplings were supposed to have been dreamy!

I can’t wait to get back to normal and see you all back at school!  I am missing you all so much.

Your posts are helping to fill my days and it is so great to see what you have all been up to!

Stay safe 🌈 everyone!

Love you all

Mrs Smith
