“Fair fa’ your honest, sonsie face,
Great chieftain o the puddin’ – race,”
What a fantastic lunch time. Our cook, Mrs Caffery, brought an enormous haggis down from her last visit back home to Scotland, ready to help our children learn a little more about Burns’ night.
We had a traditional piper escort the haggis into the hall, I even managed to recite Burns’ ‘Address to a Haggis’ in a Scottish/pirate/Geordie accent!
The children were all able to sample the haggis and I think lots of them were proud of themselves for trying something new and many more were surprised at how much they liked the taste!
Everyone had a great time and we are really looking forward to the next themed meals. Look out for a Chinese New Year theme and a Viking Feast!
