Welcome back! I hope you have  all enjoyed the holidays and thank you so much for all of your kind gifts.

Our topic this term is Around the World. We will by going on a whistle-stop tour of the seven continents of the world, and visiting a country on each continent to explore their features, people and landmarks.  We will learn where the seven continents are on a map and undertake a variety of fun activities to help us learn more about each one. We will also be linking Art and DT to this wonderful topic, please see topic web for more information.

Our literacy work this term will focus on the exciting world of traditional tales, giving the children the challenge of creating their own traditional tale. We will continue to focus on our phonics and spelling to improve both our reading and our writing. In maths we will continue to develop our understanding of number, addition and subtraction. I would really appreciate any help and support you could give to your child in their understanding of money, time and multiplication (x2, x5 and x10).
