I hope you all had a fantastic half term!
At Bede Burn Primary we are committed to celebrating differences within our school community. Mrs Smith (Y6 teacher) has been instrumental this year at leading the school through the Rainbow Flag award.
On Friday 24th June 2022 our children will be celebrating Pride Month. On the morning they will be discussing differences in the community and in families linked to the LGBTQ+ community. This will all be delivered in an age appropriate way and in line with the RSE curriculum. We invite all of our children to attend school this day dressed in rainbow colours to celebrate pride and diversity.
On the afternoon we would love to invite all of our parents, carers grandparents, aunties, uncles etc to join us on our school field from 1pm for a Pride Picnic. Bring along a picnic rug, your picnic and join us for an afternoon of rainbow fun! Children who ordinarily stay for school dinners will be given a packed lunch. Those children who have packed lunch can either bring theirs in on the morning or you can bring it along with you!
We really hope you can make it! If you can’t don’t worry thew staff will love to picnic with your children!
