Pupil Premium Strategy

The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to diminish the difference between them and their national peers.

Background:

The Pupil Premium is allocated to children from low-income families who are currently known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), those who were eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years (known as the Ever 6 FSM measure), children who have been Looked After continuously for more than six months and children who come from Services families.

Schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium as they see fit. However we will be held accountable for how we have used the additional funding to support pupils from low-income families. At Bede Burn Primary School, we believe in combining a knowledge of educational research with the personal needs of our pupils.
